Ingredients
- 4 flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Vegetable oil for frying
How to make it
- Whisk the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl and set it aside.
- Cut each flour tortilla into six or eight wedges using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Pour about an inch of oil into a deep skillet and heat it over medium heat until it reaches 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Carefully drop a few tortilla wedges into the hot oil and fry for about one minute on each side until they are golden brown and crisp.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel for a moment to drain.
- While the chips are still hot, toss them generously in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
- Repeat with the remaining tortilla wedges and enjoy.
Tips
Toss the chips in the sugar right out of the hot oil so the coating sticks well.
